Who is worthy?

My fellow americans of SWAIN, it is with humble spirit and much resolve that you as citizens of this esteemed County should have the honor to nominate to the court of public opinion candidates for the upcoming election in Swain. This election on a local level shall consist of no less than two seats for the Swain County Board of Education. While it is apparent these individuals now holding these seats are capable and duly qualified, are they and their veiws consistent with the people of Swain County?
Please place your nominations in the comment forum, with a brief statement of recomendation.

Millie Burns would be a positive note to the SCSB. Having children of her own in the system she has a view of issues and problems within the system.
Sara Sutton is another individual that I believe would make positve changes to the SCSB. Having retired as a teacher from the system she has experience of how things are done and not done within the system.
On another note, I hope the Board of Ed. allows the public some face time in the selection process of the new Super. There doesn't need to be a repeat of the past.

I think Millie Burns, Shirley Sutton and Sarah Heisel would be great candidates for the Board of Education officals.

I would like to nominate someone who knows more about our school system than anyone. An educator who has given his life to Swain County and urged it on to what it is now. Our retiring School Superintendent, Robert White.

Robert White has had his influence on this system for good and or bad for too long, why would we settle for more of the same ?
